London Restaurant Opening - Siren at The Goring

This restaurant opening has been anticipated for a long time. Nathan Outlaw, the culinary master of Cornish seafood, has finally opened the door to his first London venue. He was invited in by the Gorings, to open a new restaurant in their famous hotel, and this has not happened for more than 100 years. The preparation was long, and expensive - they spent £4 million on building a purpose conservatory and fitting a brand new dining room with a newly fit kitchen. The effect - dining room is classy, very traditional with few modern twists, the day time view of the surrounding London architecture is quite special. Then the menu - no doubt, the ingredients are very carefully sourced, the menu is thought through, plates are beautiful, but prices very hefty. Some critics, like Fay, have almost written them off for it, but some others are very pleased (the very regular clientelle of London five star hotels, who are used to spending £100 per head).
