New Hotel Alert - Soho Warehouse LA
This is probably the hottest hotel opening this year from our point of view. Soho House group has finally entered the big game with their first property in L.A. that doubles for a hotel too.
'Found down the back alley and accessed through what is technically the back door of a former industrial warehouse, the hotel greets guests with a massive mural from 'Obey' over one of the metal roll up doors of the old loading dock. Graffiti is sprayed throughout (...) While the other Soho Houses in Los Angeles have choice spots in West Hollywood and Malibu, Soho Warehouse is in a gritty corner of Downtown L.A.’s Arts District on Santa Fe Avenue, surrounded by flat industrial buildings and constantly buzzing freeways. Sing-songy, tap-dancing “La La Land” it is not, nor is it (thankfully) a scene out of “Entourage.” For decades DTLA was viewed as an all-work, no-play destination, with many buildings from its industrial era left abandoned or underused. It's renaissance started about 15 years ago when top restaurants and brands like Stumptown started moving into the cheap space. Hotels followed; Soho Warehouse joins titans like the NoMad and Ace, who've moved in over the past few years.' writes CN Traveler.
The food offer is also so crowd pleasing, it is actually almost inappropriate. You can as easily pick a wood fired sourdough pizza, awesomely greasy and perfectly balance burger, compose your own healthy lunch bowl, or light and sublime raw hamachi tuna. The outlets settings are also perfect for us - you really choose between the lush and relaxed garden, or minimalistic and sharp terrace overlooking the city. Check for more pictures and info
