Restaurant Experience - Brat, Shoreditch

The unassuming dining room opened just over a year ago, and managed since to prove once again that finest food experience doesn’t need to come with hefty price tag and does not need silver to be eaten wit’s. The welsh Chef, Tomos Parry plays the old favourite tune, where the key notes strike passion, produce and love of hosting. He was proved right by being recently awarded no. 2 restaurant in UK by National Restaurant Awards. Parry’s chorus that has earwormed many, including famous grouches such as Fay Maschler (her review here) and Jay Rayner (his review here), is cooking everything over wood charcoal. It looks great and tastes even better. Brat is an old English word for Turbot, so you won’t miss on this excellent piece of fish there. Other plates served are duck, sole, dory or a chunky steak.
